In late 1939 four British servicemen, alongside an American specialist from New Orleans, teamed to take on a classified mission - codenamed Operation Kachinas - somewhere in the Arctic Circle.

The sole survivor, Sgt. Ron Warhurst, died in December 2019 at the age of ninety-nine.

These reels were found amongst his personal effects.

An accompanying list, written in his own hand, appears to tally with the sounds therein.
